Nepali security guards arrested in Iraq

Iraqi authorities arrested three Nepali security guards on Friday from capital Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone for firing their weapons while partying, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP).

The arrested men were guarding an American communications company based inside the Green Zone, a sprawling, well-guarded complex where many Iraqi leaders, foreign diplomats and businesses are based. Their identity has not been disclosed.

AFP has quoted Iraqi military spokesperson Major General Qassim Atta, as saying, "we cordoned off their property and arrested three people who earlier fired their weapons. They are Nepalese."

No one was wounded by the firing
